Topographical survey for land seismic data acquisitionWe are an offshore seismic survey company based in Mumbai. We have our own 3D seismic survey vessel. We are planning to carry out one 3D Transition Zone survey in West of Gandhar area, Gujrat. Contract has been awarded to us by ONGC. Survey area extends from offshore to land area covering about 140 sq.km. We were exploring the possibility whether GSI can take up the topographical survey (staking, leveling, tying with base stations etc) using GPS survey equipment on contract basis. Duration of the project is about 10 months. All facilities like boarding & lodging (inside an established camp), vehicles, labourers to carry the equipment to the field, office facilities, communication equipment etc will be provided by the company. Only Survey equipment and technical personnel are requested from GSI. Please revert back at the earliest with a Quotation for the job. GSI does not take up Land Survey. THis work is normally done by Survey of India

Resolution issues with Maps in portalWhile I applaud the GSI's initiative to make the searching and downloading of Published maps easy and more accessible, I have noticed that certain maps are uploaded into the portal with resolutions so poor that they are indecipherable. Current example I was trying to source was the District Resource Map of Thane District. Thank You, we are gradually uploading higher resolution maps.
