MEMOIRS : Comprehensive document and detailed account of specific stratigraphic-tectonic provinces with metallogenic significance; documentation of work carried out related to geological processes of global/regional importance. First published in 1856.

RECORDS : PART I : Annual General Reports of GSI containing the summarised accounts of the activities of the entire department in a particular field season. First published in 1868
PART II to VIII : The Series now publishes the extended abstracts of the progress reports of the annual programmes. First published in 1868.

PALAEONTOLOGIA INDICA : Contains detailed papers on palaeontological work with biostratigraphic significance. First published in 1865.

SPECIAL PUBLICATIONS : Proceedings of Seminars/Symposia/Workshops on various earthscience topics . First published in 1980.

BULLETINS SERIES A : On Economic Geology, published since 1950.
SERIES B: On Engineering Geology, published since 1950.

SERIES C: Compilation of Basic Data, published since 1986.

MISCELLANEOUS PUBLICATIONS : Consolidated document on geology and mineral resources of different states of India.Earlier it also included bibliography of different topics, Proceedings of Seminars/Symposia/Workshop etc. First published in 1950.

CATALOGUE SERIES : Documentation of basic geoscientific data collected by the department. First published in 1982.

INDIAN MINERALS : the Earth Science journal published by the Geological Survey of India – has recently completed its DIAMOND JUBILEE. In the sixty years of its uninterrupted journey, it has evolved a lot both in its form and contents. At present a revamping, strategy is under implementation for improving the overall quality of the journal.

TERMS FOR SALE OF GSI PUBLICATIONS

1. The GSI Publications are sold on advance payment; the money is to be paid by M.O. / Bank Draft drawn in favour of the Director, Publication & Information Division, Geological Survey of India, 29 Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Calcutta-700 016.

2. For remittance of the requisite amount for purchase of publications, proforma invoice may be obtained from the Director, Publication & Information Division, Geological Survey of India, CHQ, 29, J N Road, Calcutta 700 016, India. E-mail:dydgop4@cal3.vsnl.net.in

3. Publications are sent by registered parcel post in India and by sea mail book post abroad for which the postal charges are borne by the GS[. On request, publications are also sent by air mail for which postages are to be borne by the purchaser.

4. Cash sale of GSI publications are made in the Publication Division (44B Section), 29 Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Ground floor/3rd floor, Calcutta 700 016, India, between 10.30 A.M. and 1 P.M. / 2.30 P.M. to 4 P.M. on all working days.
