Shri P M Datta, Shri P Manna, Shri S C Ghosh and Shri D P Das of GSI have reported Indochelys spatulate--the FIRST JURASSIC TURTLE FROM INDIA. It is the second oldest turtle of the world. This early Jurassic (about 205 million years ago) turtle was collected from Pranhita-Godavari valley, KOTA village, Maharashtra.
