Pre-disaster studies
  • The pre-disaster studies have been pursued since early 80’s.
  • The initial studies carried out in different parts of the country on various scales, such as
    • Landslide hazard Rating in the North Eastern Region, 1980
    • Landslide Hazard Zonation of Parts of Nilgiris, 1982

Basin-wise LHZ studies were started by the GSI in different parts of Himalayas and in the North East states in the beginning of eighties.
