The sketch map on the left shows a part of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in Bay of Bengal.

In the aftermath of the Great Sumatra - Andaman Earthquake, several teams from GSI did surveys around the affected areas. One such traverse was undertaken on 29th January 2006 primarily around Interview Island (left of the map) to assess the upliftment of the coral banks caused by the earthquake.
