GSI has set up a Geoscientific Data Centre in GSI with distributed sub-centres at the Regional Headquarters and a National Centre at CHQ, Calcutta. The Centres are equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software linked through LAN, and data transmissions between the distributed centres through wide area network is expected shortly. The sub-centres  would serve as information windows offering access to the databases on Commercial basis.
